Furries are people who are fans of anthropomorphic animal - typically cartoon characters who are animals - yet humanoid in form. Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse - these are classic Furry characters. Furries like to think of themselves as anthrophomorphic animals, or at least to identify with some character or archetype which they feel represents their inner self (hey, I'm just writing this... :)

I, on the other hand, have always been an SF and lycanthropy nut and draw images from those subjects which, as you can guess, overlaps with the Furry mindset. Thus, I get a lot of interest from the Furry community in my drawings while I, myself, am not a Furry. Some would argue that in the strictest technical sense, I am a Furry - I suppose this is true - but since I've never felt at home with Furries and have never really clicked with the Furry Community, I tend to dispute this.

Many of these images are of Hafeliel, my main character in my drawings and writings. He's a Khamasian , a 473 year old (young for them) being from the fifth planet of the star Canopus. There's an entire history and set of stories about him which I might post some day.

This character popped up in a dream I had and I was lucky enough to remember what he looked like when I awoke. Now you know why I don't get much sleep.

This was redrawn from an original illustration I saw in an old book whose name I regret I can no longer recall. This illo is copywork I did to improve my ability to draw from sight and to learn the artist's style.

Ok, I'll admit it - I don't like fantasy. Most of it is boilerplate writing barely above the Harlequin romance level (that is, pretty much like most Star Trek novels). Now, I've read some incredible fantasy - so I know it is possible to write that - but most writers just use the same tired cliches. Pity.

A major fave of the Furry community is the 'taur' - take an animal - preferable a smaller animal like a fox, graft a humanoid version from the waist up onto a fully animal half from the neck down - you got a 'taur. Think 'centaur'.
